King Kan takes 18th Annual Buoy Ah Buoy Crown!

One of the best calypso shows/competitions I’ve ever had the privilege of being a part of: the 18th Annual Buoy Ah Buoy Big Man Ah Big Man on April 16th… Congrats to winner King Kan, 1st runner up Waggy, and 2nd runner up Mighty Pat!

The band for the evening featured yours truly on Keyboards, with: Malvern Gumbs (1st Trumpet), Clayton Emanuel (2nd Trumpet), Akeel Breedy (Tenor Sax), Urbane Chinnery (Trombone), Georges “Frere Soul” Thomas (Guitar), Daril Scott (Bass Guitar), and Leonard “Lenny” Monsanto (Percussion); backing vocals by the lovely Lorna “The Fox” Freeman and Daniella “Lioness” Richardson!

Guest artists included the one and only Wayne “Facts Man” Adams; The Mighty Pickett, Mr. Tash (Hugo Hodge), Sting-A-Nettle, and King Louis Ible, Jr. From the BVI we had IBari & Seventh Wing Band, Queen Makisha, and Martino “Tino” Mark. Lying Excuses (Parts 1 & 2!) kept the crowd entertained, and the emcee, the one and only Reginald “Ras Regg” Martin kept the audience in check and the show moving along.

Another outstanding production by Osbert “Sweetback” Potter and Strictly Local Productions. You absolutely do not want to miss #19!!!
