Despite hurricanes and by popular vote of the California Yacht Brokers Association, The USVI Charter Yacht Show was hosted at the Yacht Haven Grande Nov. 11-14, 2017.

With the theme “A place of the past through the eyes of the Native St. Johnians”, the event was organized to benefit the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Clinic following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

  • Tribute to Jerry Harris at Fat Turtle (July 30, 2017)

    Thanks to all that attended and took part in the memorial for Jerry at Fat Turtle on July 30, 2017. It was an honor to be a part of the event, which was organized by Ida “Cookie” Brown and was attended a host of celebrated musicians, who dedicated their performances to Jerry, along with many friends and fans.

    Jerry E. Harris, well known in local and national Jazz circles, passed away on May 7, 2017. He was a staple at fine St. Thomas venues such as Fat Turtle, Northside Bistro, and Tavern on the Waterfront. An Obituary page for Jerry is hosted at ThomasRich.com, and visitors may leave tributes and photos as well.

    Simply a magnificent night!! The First Bank Junior Calypso Competition presented by the VI Carnival Committee on Tuesday, April 18th was second to none!!! Congratulations to the winners – Ka’stin-Italia “Princess Italia” Roach (Primary), K’Nia “Lady K” Maduro (Intermediate), and Khamoi “Prince Khamoi” DeSilvia (Secondary)!
