I was honored to sit in on keys with the Music Makers as part of the 30th Anniversary of the Folklife Festival event hosted by the Virgin Islands National Park on (Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27, 2021) at Annaberg and Peace Hill! The Black History Month tradition was scaled down due to COVID-19, but was filled with music, demonstrations, dance, and the guardian of culture, the moko jumbi!
For those who could not make the cultural gathering this year, local PBS station WTJX has produced a retrospective video entitled “Celebrating Culture from Where We Came to Where We Are” in honor of Folklife Festival 2021.
