Congratulations to all the winners in all the contests for Carnival in St. Thomas 2010! Especially the calypsonians like King Kan Fu-Plentae, Waggy (Bouy-Ah-Bouy King) and other competitors like Sarrou, Reflector, Chaplet, Mighty Know, and Fidel. Also would like to ‘big up’ the Road March Champs Malvern Gumbs and the Spectrum Band (left). Great job all – a fine representation of the culture, the talent, and the art form in the V.I.!

Rather than listing the ‘challenges’ Carnival had this year, I will simply say this; Any entity, or any activity, that does not evolve over time will ultimately die off, and while there are many that long for things to go back to the ‘good old days’ I would much rather have back the participation that this annual celebration enjoyed for so many years……and anything that would help re-establish that aspect of Carnival, I would heartily endorse….
